Facilities and Equipment

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology will carry out basic research on single fracture and fracture network geometric and flow properties related to fractured reservoir development. The facilities to be provided by MIT consist of:

  • Extensive rock mechanics research laboratories, including centrifuge, triaxial stress/flow equipment, and fracture surface profiling equipment
  • Internationally renowned engineering library facilities
  • Integrated personal computers and UNIX Workstations
