This quarterly progress report describes activities during the period September 1, 1997 to November 30, 1997. Work was carried out on 10 tasks. The major activities in the quarter were in research related to implementation and testing of the hierarchical fracture model, implementation of the Windows 95 data analysis system, and modeling in support of "Thermally Assisted Gravity Segregation" (TAGS). Major efforts were also made for technology transfer, including updates to the project WWW site and conference presentations.
