William S. Dershowitz

B.S., Civil Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1977.
M.S, Civil Engineering (Rock Mechanics), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1979.
Ph.D., Civil Engineering (Rock Mechanics), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1984.

Dr. Dershowitz is a Principal with Golder Associates. He is a pioneer in the development of discrete fracture data analysis, integration, and modeling approaches since 1977, and delivered the keynote address on Petroleum Applications of Discrete Fracture Approaches at the 1994 North American Rock Mechanics Symposium. Dr. Dershowitz developed data analysis techniques for fracture orientation, size, shape, location, and transmissivity, and is the principal investigator for ongoing development of the FracMan discrete fracture flow and transport model. Dr. Dershowitz has completed more than 20 major discrete fracture modeling projects in the US, Asia, and Europe, and has published over 30 papers on discrete fracture flow research.
